Q1. Please introduce yourself and Female Founders.

Hi, we are Female Founders, a podcast led by high schoolers that shares stories of women in finance and business!

Q2. Your organization emphasizes sharing stories of women in business. What qualities do you look for when selecting guests for the podcast?

When selecting guests for our podcast, we look for women who can inspire and educate our audience. We specifically look for women who are genuine about their journey. We also think diversity of perspectives is very important; so we try to aim for women from different industries, backgrounds, and etc.

Q3. The podcast is described as a platform to amplify women’s voices in finance and entrepreneurship. Why do you think storytelling is an effective tool for inspiring future founders?

Storytelling is a very important way to inspire people because it makes real experiences easier to understand. Stories can also create a connection with the listener which makes the lessons easier to remember. By sharing both the struggles and successes, this shows that starting a business or pursuing a career in a male dominated field is possible, giving future founders the confidence and inspiration to keep going despite challenges.

Q4. What gaps currently exist in media representation of women in business that this podcast hopes to address?

There are still significant gaps in how women in business are represented in the media. Stories mostly focus on male leaders, or highlight women only in exceptional cases, which can make female achievements seem rare. Which is why this podcast aims to amplify women’s voices.

Q5. If you could invite any female entrepreneur or finance leader to the podcast, who would it be and why?

If we could invite any female entrepreneur or finance leader, we would choose Lily Balasis. She is the CEO of a very famous brand, The Pink Palm Puff. She started this company when she was just 15 years old and has grown to a viral fashion brand known for their cozy hoodies. The company’s popularity took off from social media, especially Tiktok. Inviting someone like her would be a great choice because her story shows how young women can build and lead successful brands in the modern economy.

Q6. What are the organization’s biggest goals for this year, and how can students help in your mission?

Our organization’s biggest goals this year are to amplify more women’s voices in business/finance/entrepreneurship and to build a community where future founders feel supported and inspired.

Students can help our mission by sharing our content with their networks, engaging with our stories we feature, and nomating women they admire to be guests on our podcast.
