Our Mission

The Megaphone: A Silicon Valley Youth Register, is a youth newspaper based in the Silicon Valley, focused on bringing light to local stories and amplifying voices of youth.

The Megaphone is a not-for-profit newspaper that strives to deliver quality news to readers, and portray the perspective of youth to the world. This is a platform for aspiring young writers, journalists, and advocates to make a change and express themselves. We are committed to creating a community of youth that are excited about providing and sharing diverse and varying content, and are passionate about reporting about information important to know.

We have worked on interviewing motivated youth, professors and local artists such as Caltech Professor G. Ravichandra and artist Ayelet Gal-On, have highlighted local heroes such as Andy Wang, and have covered local politics and policies. Beyond releasing new issues every two weeks, we are also conducting numerous initiatives such as workshops and fundraising to support victims of human trafficking.
