Unpopular Opinion Alert: The Bay Area has THE BEST food in all of the United States (perhaps second only to NYC). As someone whose lived in 13 different US states, I believe my opinion on this matter holds at least a little bit of weight. Nowhere else in the US will you find such a diverse selection of authentic, non-gentrified restaurants serving the HIGHEST quality food from hundreds of cultures.
Be warned however, that if you are reading this article on an empty stomach, grab some food before you continue, or you might end up going insane.
