Q1: Please introduce yourself and the mission of Wings of Youth.

Hi, we’re Wings of Youth a youth-led, international, Multimedia Magazine with academic influence committed to creating a vibrant community of teens where they can publish their creative and academic work, simultaneously gaining recognition, certificates, volunteer opportunities and most importantly a place in our issues!

Our Multimedia Magazine is open to all sorts of creative and academic work like poetry, prose, art, photography, philosophies, essays and more!

Q2: Is there a specific experience that inspired you to start Wings of Youth? How does that shape how you lead this magazine?

Zines in our vicinity really inspired us, even though we were never involved in the zine community before. Seeing communities filled with driven teens was something that really touched us. It was what we wanted.

We lead ourselves as a community, a haven of youth creativity. We believe that the youth has the power to change the world, as the future of tomorrow, so why not start today?

Q3: What inspires the themes behind each issue? How is “The Sun is My Undoing” inspired by the intersection between ancient Greek mythology and modern, youth interpretations?

Honestly, much to our founder’s dismay, nothing is ever planned months before. Each issue is a random spark that she pens down, juggling her social and academic life. But in each chaotic thought, there is an experience which, she feels, every person has experienced in their lives.

Icarus’s tale is about ambition, love, arrogance (somewhat) and the overall fall of the flier, which can be seen in the lives of teens. Ambition that drives us, love that breaks us, arrogance that binds and the fall which we experience.

Q4: What can readers look forward to in 2026?

In 2026, readers can look forward to sectioned issues consisting of themed and unthemed sections like issue 2, ‘Teenhood vol. 1’ which is open for submissions till April 15th! We’ll be hosting competitions and introduce more exciting things!

Q5: How can young writers and artists aid in your mission?

Our mission is to get these young artists and writers published. Them coming forward is all the aid that we need from them. We want them to be assured and confident within themselves and the work that they have created. Trust us, we know how it feels like to hide, and we also know how it feels like to shine.
