On February 6th, Dubai formally launched the operational phase of RT6 taxi vehicles.
The launch of these AI-powered autonomous cars was led by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He travelled to the World Government Summit at Madinat Jumeirah in one of these taxis.
The RT6 cars are equipped with more than 40 sensors, developed by Baidu Apollo Go. Their software integrates real-time data, high-definition maps, and deep learning algorithms to ensure the safety of both passengers, pedestrians, and other drivers.
