“Lily! Wait up!”
Lily turned around to see Paul running towards her.
“What?”
“Lily, do you want to go to the park with me today?” Paul asks, so eager that he looked like a little puppy seeing their owner return home.
“Uhhh…” Lily looked around. “Phew, no one’s here. Yes, I would like to go!”
“Great!” Paul beams. “Let’s meet at 3!”
Paul is skipping away, obviously very excited.

3:00 pm
“WHERE IS HE???” Lily yells in frustration.
“He said he would be here at 3! It’s already 3:10!”
Lily sighs. “UGHH I knew I shouldn’t have agreed. He made a complete fool out of me! I’m never talking to him AGAIN.”
Just when she was going to stomp back home, Paul comes running towards her with a cake box in his hand.
“Li – ly … *huff huff* wa- it for me *huff huff*”
“Why should I? You were late! You made me look like a fool, standing here for 20 minutes!”
“Wa – it here – me ex – plain *huff huff*.” Paul breathes in deeply, and says, “I wanted to buy you a cake, because I know you love peach cake! I was going to go to this super famous cake store after school, but when I got there, there were so many people. So when I finished buying the cake, I was already late. I’m so sorry Lily!”
Lily burst into tears. “Paul, I’m so sorry… I thought you were just trying to make fun of me … I’m sorry…”
Paul hugs her and says, “It’s okay! Don’t feel bad.”
