For many, September marks the beginning of the school year. So, what’s better to save this school year than a curated list of songs from all our members, a playlist to save the school year! This contains a wide mix of genres, and ranges from giving motivation, brightening your day, or helping you lock in and become an “academic weapon”.

Bad – wave to earth
Perfect fall song! The gorgeously cozy and lazy-Sunday vibes of the song are to die for, definitely would instantly relax you and make your day feel much better. Also, the lyrics are soooo cute– for example: “And I finally held your hands”, “How could my day be bad when I’m with you?” The warm cozy feel and the adorable lyrics make this song one of my favorites, and something that will keep you through the school year! (Also Peach Eyes is another great song by wave to earth – please listen!!!!!!!)

Blue Butterflies – JHIN
My biggest recommendation is to listen to this song in the morning! It’ll instantly start your day on the right note. Not sure why, but this song makes me think of the time when the day is just starting, the sky is still pale blue, and you’re getting ready for your day. It’s a slow, chill song, so listening to this at the prime time (the morning) is essential to a great, chill day!

Mon Amour – GEMINI
This song gives such 3 AM fever dream vibes. Definitely listen if you need to stay up, it totally matches the feel. The pulse-like beat, the dream-like background music, and the soft vocals combine to make a song absolutely perfect for late-night work. Also, something about this song helps me focus really well. Overall, this song is absolutely essential for procrastinator night owls such as myself.

AURA – Junny, ft. pH-1
I was obsessed with this song for about two months (and still am currently obsessed). Must I explain more? It is such a great song for a car ride home, but also a great song for any time of the day. The beat and chorus are so catchy, a fun song that is sort of groovy and snappy, and it instantly makes you cooler every time you listen to it. It’s honestly indescribable how good this song is. Increase your aura this year by listening to this song! (PLEASE LISTEN)

next door – Amelia Moore, ft. ASTN
First off, I just want to mention how good their voices soundddd. It’s honestly unreal how much I love their voices in this song. The beat just ties everything into a perfect, chill but fast-paced, pop song. This song is so good that it makes me forget all my problems (especially from school). Must-listen for anyone and everyone.

Tonight I Might – KATSEYE
An emotional teenage rollercoaster romance, with lyrics and melody giving an atmosphere of rebellion and adventure. This song is relatable to young students like myself, who are full of youthful spirit and rebellious energy.

Church – Chase Atlantic
Strong, emotional, rock lovesong with great guitar and strong beats. Listen when you want to scream or feel inner turmoil for stress relief that we know you need.

In The Night – The Weeknd
Yes, it is a famous pop song, but it is so good. Love the strong melody and how it sort of intoxicates you. Listen when you want to get lost in your thoughts.

Every End of Day – IU
Whether it’s the constant drum beat that supports every verse of the song, the fast-paced piano, the upbeat lyrics, or all of those elements acting together, I do not know. What I do know is that if I loop this song for hours on end while studying, I can achieve a state of efficiency that can only be otherwise induced by consuming mass amounts of amphetamines.

Dastaan-E-Om Shanti Om – Shaan
Continuing with the theme of recreational drugs (caused by songs), listening to this song while watching the video will provide even the most depressed individual with joy and hope. The effect this song has on people cannot be put into words; you must experience it for yourself.

Look – Red Velvet
The best song ever created. Every verse, every beat, every lyric, every ad-lib come together to form the closest thing we have in our world to absolute and utter perfection. The song likely will not hit the hardest the first time you listen to it. Rather, it will get better and better and you will soon come to realize that you are listening to the best song that has ever been created. The song will never get annoying and you will never get tired of it. Additionally, the greatness of this song can be enjoyed to an equal degree while listening to it actively, as well as listening to it passively, making it the perfect addition to a study playlist, or any playlist for that matter.

From the Start – Laufey
Basic but essential song for any September playlist. Not only are the themes presented by the song’s lyrics very applicable to being in a school setting, but it is also a great song to passively enjoy while studying, as the melody is calming and dreamy. Perfect for the purposes of sedating math homework-related rage.

Toad’s Turnpike – Player One
Player One’s Mario Kart music on Spotify is incredibly catchy. Doodoo Doodoo Doodoo Doodoo doo Doo doo. Doodoo Doodoo Doodoo Doodoo doo Doo doo. Mario Kart music on top! Also, check out Coconut Mall and Grumble Volcano.
